A Little History About Summit Rainier
In 2009, a group of committed parents from East San Jose approached Summit Public Schools about bringing a Summit school to their community. Parents collected a thousand signatures from families who wanted a high-quality public school option for their children, one that ensured their children would graduate to be successful in college and beyond. In 2011, two Summit schools in San Jose were born, Summit Rainier and Tahoma. Summit Rainier is now a thriving high school in East San Jose and ranks among the top 20 public high schools in Santa Clara County. In 2014, Summit Rainier graduated its founding class and is proud that 100% of its graduates were accepted into a 4-year college.
