Summit Elevate Reimagines High School and Wins XQ Super School Award

We are so honored that Summit Elevate, which was built on the foundation of our pioneering personalized learning model, has been recognized by The XQ Super School Project as a school of the future.

We listened to feedback from our students, our faculty and from our network of partner schools across the country to further redefine the high school experience for students. Students told us they wanted to better understand the workplace and career paths open to them. At Summit Elevate, students will be able to visualize career opportunities with an eye towards identifying trends and forging a path for themselves, clarifying the connection between what they learn in school and their future. Summit Elevate will also expand students’ support systems. In addition to their designated Summit faculty mentor, each student will build a community of advisors reflective of their needs. This team of faculty, community members, professionals, and peers will always be within reach to support and advise students on their academic progress and goals for well-being. Students at Summit Elevate will spend even more time exploring and deepening their passions through real-world experiences that are relevant to their interests through externships and personalized expeditions, content, and projects.

Summit is proud to be partnering with the California College of the Arts, Gensler, Silicon Schools FundOakland Unified School District  and Office of Mayor Libby Schaaf, City of Oakland to launch Summit Elevate in Oakland. Summit Elevate builds on Summit’s successful presence in the East Bay, with strong demand for its two schools in El Cerrito and Richmond. Summit has also partnered with several Oakland schools through Summit Basecamp, to help them implement personalized learning in their own classrooms.
