Education Protection Account (EPA) Spendings
California’s Education Protection Account (“EPA”) provides local educational agencies with general purpose state aid funding. The EPA was authorized by voter approval of Proposition 30 in November 2012 and has been funded with temporary tax increases authorized by Proposition 30 (2012) and Proposition 55 (2016). Pursuant to California law, any local education agency that receives funds from the EPA must publish on its website an accounting of how much money was received from the EPA and how the funds were expended.
