Board Meeting Schedule, Agendas, and Minutes
Diane:
Bob might be muted.
Bob:
Wait a second. Can you hear me now?
Diane:
Yes, we can.
Bob:
I approve.
Diane:
Thank you. Blake?
Blake:
Yes.
Diane:
Diego?
Diego:
Aye.
Diane:
And Steve?
Steve:
Yes.
Diane:
Great. So the motion to approve the agenda carries. Our next item of business is the approval of the minutes from the previous Board meeting. Do I have a motion to approve?
Steve:
So moved.
Blake:
Second.
Diane:
Thank you Steve for the motion, and thank you Blake for the second. We’ll do a roll call vote starting with Bob.
Bob:
Aye.
Diane:
Blake?
Blake:
Aye.
Diane:
Diego?
Diego:
Aye.
Diane:
And Steve.
Steve:
Yes.
Diane:
Thank you. That motion carries unanimously. Next up we are going to open for public comment. We would like to invite public comment on the Closed Session items and non-agenda items. We do have another public comment session post-Closed Session at approximately 1:30 PM.
Diane:
Valeria, I think you’re collecting people who are interested in making comments. Is that true?
Valeria:
That is correct. I don’t have any public comment at the moment.
Diane:
Okay. So let me just open it up to the meeting at this point. If you would like to make a public comment, please let us know that.
Diane:
Welcome, Andy.
Andy:
Hello. Sorry, I had a little trouble with the Zoom.
Diane:
No problem. Welcome. We are on public comment right now.
Diane:
Is there anyone who’s attending the meeting currently who would like to make a public comment? I’m going to give it one more minute to make sure that if someone wants to make a public comment they come off of mute and let us know that, or to see if Valeria receives any request to make a public comment.
Steve Decker:
Diane, it’s Steve Decker. I’ve got a quick one.
Diane:
Great. So Valeria, I hear that we have a member of the public who wants to make a comment, Steve Decker.
Steve Decker:
I don’t know if this is the appropriate time. This is my first time attending one of these. I just want to compliment Summit on your folks’ execution of virtual schools. There are a lot of schools around the country, a lot of businesses around the country, that have not adapted as well as you folks. I just want to commend you folks on all the homework you folks did in the background to enable virtual school for families. I think it’s pretty awesome. And you folks should be very stoked, and we should start this meeting with a win. So congratulations and thank you.
Diane:
Thank you for that comment, Steve.
Diane:
Is there anyone else who would like to make a public comment?
Sherry Taylor:
I have a question. Is this the time where we would talk about the bargaining proposals?
Diane:
At this point we’re asking for public comment on Closed Session items and non-agenda items. The bargaining proposals are on the Open Session agenda. So we have a public comment time at 1:25 for that, but we also welcome your public comment now if it’s convenient for you. So whatever you would like to do. It looks like you want to wait until the next public comment period. Great. So Valeria can you mark down that Sherry Taylor would like to make a public comment in the next public comment section?
Diane:
Okay. Anyone else who would like to make a public comment before we move into Closed Session?
Diane:
All right. Not hearing any interest at this point, the Board members are going to exit this meeting and go into Closed Session. We anticipate returning to Open Session at approximately 1:25 PM. So again, we are going to exit Open Session to go into Closed Session and anticipate returning to this Zoom call at approximately 1:25 PM to resume Open Session. Thank you so much for joining us so far, and we will see you when we return to the Open Session.
Diane:
Board members, will you please log into your Closed Session meeting? Thank you.
